13:6 I will sing praises ¹  to the Lord

when he vindicates me. ²

[13:6]  ¹ tn The verb form is cohortative, indicating the psalmist’s resolve (or vow) to praise the Lord when deliverance arrives.

[13:6]  ² tn Or “for he will have vindicated me.” The verb form indicates a future perfect here. The idiom גָמַל עַל (gamal ’al) means “to repay,” here in a positive sense.

[109:31]  ³ tn Heb “judge.”

[116:2]  ⁴ tn Heb “because he turned his ear to me.”

[116:2]  ⁵ tn Heb “and in my days I will cry out.”

[119:127]  ⁶ tn “For this reason” connects logically with the statement made in v. 126. Because the judgment the psalmist fears (see vv. 119-120) is imminent, he remains loyal to God’s law.
