Mazmur 85:9

85:9 Certainly his loyal followers will soon experience his deliverance; ¹ 

then his splendor will again appear in our land. ² 

Yesaya 66:12

66:12 For this is what the Lord says:

“Look, I am ready to extend to her prosperity that will flow like a river,

the riches of nations will flow into her like a stream that floods its banks. ³ 

You will nurse from her breast ⁴  and be carried at her side;

you will play on her knees.

The Promised Blessing

2:10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month of Darius’ second year, ⁵  the Lord spoke again to the prophet Haggai: ⁶ 

[85:9]  ¹ tn Heb “certainly his deliverance [is] near to those who fear him.”

[85:9]  ² tn Heb “to dwell, glory, in our land.” “Glory” is the subject of the infinitive. The infinitive with -לְ (lÿ), “to dwell,” probably indicates result here (“then”). When God delivers his people and renews his relationship with them, he will once more reveal his royal splendor in the land.

[66:12]  ³ tn Heb “Look, I am ready to extend to her like a river prosperity [or “peace”], and like an overflowing stream, the riches of nations.”

[66:12]  ⁴ tn The words “from her breast” are supplied in the translation for clarification (see v. 11).

[2:10]  ⁵ sn The twenty-fourth day of the ninth month of Darius’ second year was Kislev 24 or December 18, 520 b.c.

[2:10]  ⁶ tn Heb “the word of the Lord came to Haggai the prophet, saying.” This Hebrew expression is slightly different from the one in 1:1, 3; 2:1.
