Mazmur 28:9

28:9 Deliver your people!

Empower ¹  the nation that belongs to you! ² 

Care for them like a shepherd and carry them in your arms ³  at all times! ⁴ 

Mikha 5:3

5:3 So the Lord ⁵  will hand the people of Israel ⁶  over to their enemies ⁷ 

until the time when the woman in labor ⁸  gives birth. ⁹ 

Then the rest of the king’s ¹⁰  countrymen will return

to be reunited with the people of Israel. ¹¹

[28:9]  ² tn Heb “your inheritance.” The parallelism (note “your people”) indicates that Israel is in view.

[28:9]  sn The shepherd metaphor is sometimes associated with royal responsibility. See 2 Sam 5:2; 7:7; Mic 5:2-4).
