Blest be our everlasting Lord,Our Father, God, and King!Thy sovereign goodness we record,Thy glorious power we sing.
By Thee the victory is giv’n;The majesty divine,And strength, and might, and earth, and Heav’n,And all therein, are Thine.
The kingdom, Lord, is Thine alone,Who dost Thy right maintain,And high on Thine eternal throne,O’er men and angels reign.
Riches, as seemeth good to Thee,Thou dost, and honor, give; And kings their power and dignityOut of Thy hand receive.
Thou hast on us the grace bestowedThy greatness to proclaim; And therefore now thank we our God,And praise Thy glorious Name.
Thy glorious Name and nature’s powersThou dost to us make known; And all the Deity is ours,Through Thy incarnate Son.
Have you not known, have you not heardThat firm remains on highThe everlasting throne of HimWho formed the earth and sky?
Are you afraid His power shall failWhen comes your evil day?And can an all creating armGrow weary or decay?
Supreme in wisdom as in powerThe Rock of Ages stands,Though Him you cannot see, nor traceThe working of His hands.
He gives the conquest to the weak,Supports the fainting heart; And courage in the evil hourHis heavenly aids impart.
Mere human power shall fast decay,And youthful vigor cease; But they who wait upon the LordIn strength shall still increase.
They with unwearied feet shall treadThe path of life divine; With growing ardor onward move,With growing brightness shine.
On eagles’ wings they mount, they soar,Their wings are faith and love;Till, past the cloudy regions here,They rise to Heav’n above.
