Lukas 22:18

22:18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit ¹  of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” ²

1:43 And who am I ³  that the mother of my Lord should come and visit me?

[22:18]  ¹ tn Grk “the produce” (“the produce of the vine” is a figurative expression for wine).

[22:18]  ² sn Until the kingdom of God comes is a reference to the kingdom in all its power. See Luke 17:20-37. Jesus awaits celebration with the arrival of full kingdom blessing.

[1:43]  ³ tn Grk “From where this to me?” The translation suggests the note of humility and surprise that Elizabeth feels in being a part of these events. The ἵνα (Jina) clause which follows explains what “this” is. A literal translation would read “From where this to me, that is, that the mother of my Lord comes to visit me?”
