Counting the Cost

14:25 Now large crowds ¹  were accompanying Jesus, ²  and turning to them he said,

24:37 But they were startled and terrified, thinking ³  they saw a ghost. ⁴ 

[14:25]  ¹ sn It is important to note that the following remarks are not just to disciples, but to the large crowds who were following Jesus.

[24:37]  ³ sn The disciples were still not comfortable at this point thinking that this could be Jesus raised from the dead. Instead they thought they saw a spirit.
