13:17 When ¹  he said this all his adversaries were humiliated, ²  but ³  the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things ⁴  he was doing. ⁵

18:3 There was also a widow ⁶  in that city ⁷  who kept coming ⁸  to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’

[13:17]  ³ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the contrast present in this context.

[13:17]  ⁵ tn Grk “that were being done by him.” The passive has been converted to an active construction in the translation.

[18:3]  ⁶ sn This widow was not necessarily old, since many people lived only into their thirties in the 1st century.
