1:70 as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago, ¹ 

Lukas 7:45

7:45 You gave me no kiss of greeting, ²  but from the time I entered she has not stopped kissing my feet.

[1:70]  ¹ tn Grk “from the ages,” “from eternity.”

[7:45]  ² tn Grk “no kiss.” This refers to a formalized kiss of greeting, standard in that culture. To convey this to the modern reader, the words “of greeting” have been supplied to qualify what kind of kiss is meant.

[11:50]  ³ tn Or “that this generation may be charged with”; or “the blood of all the prophets… may be required from this generation.” This is a warning of judgment. These people are responsible for the shedding of prophetic blood.

[11:50]  ⁴ tn Or “foundation.” However, this does not suggest a time to the modern reader.

[11:50]  ⁵ tn The order of the clauses in this complicated sentence has been rearranged to simplify it for the modern reader.
