34:19 “Every firstborn of the womb ¹  belongs to me, even every firstborn ²  of your cattle that is a male, ³  whether ox or sheep.

15:19 You must set apart ⁴  for the Lord your God every firstborn male born to your herds and flocks. You must not work the firstborn of your bulls or shear the firstborn of your flocks.

[34:19]  ² tn Here too: everything that “opens [the womb].”

[34:19]  ³ tn The verb basically means “that drops a male.” The verb is feminine, referring to the cattle.

[15:19]  ⁴ tn Heb “sanctify” (תַּקְדִּישׁ, taqdish), that is, put to use on behalf of the Lord.
