Imamat 24:2

24:2 “Command the Israelites to bring ¹  to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually. ² 

Imamat 26:28

26:28 I will walk in hostile rage against you ³  and I myself will also discipline you seven times on account of your sins.

[24:2]  ¹ tn Heb “and let them take.” The simple vav (ו) on the imperfect/jussive form of the verb לָקַח (laqakh, “to take”) following the imperative (“Command”) indicates a purpose clause (“to bring…”).

[24:2]  ² tn Heb “to cause to ascend a lamp continually.”

[26:28]  ³ tn Heb “in rage of hostility with you”; NASB “with wrathful hostility”; NRSV “I will continue hostile to you in fury”; CEV “I’ll get really furious.”
