The Arrangement and Ritual of the Earthly Sanctuary

9:1 Now the first covenant, ¹  in fact, had regulations for worship and its earthly sanctuary.

1 Petrus 1:2

1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling ²  with Jesus Christ’s blood. May grace and peace be yours in full measure! ³ 

[9:1]  ¹ tn Grk “the first” (referring to the covenant described in Heb 8:7, 13). In the translation the referent (covenant) has been specified for clarity.

[1:2]  ² sn For obedience and for sprinkling indicates the purpose of their choice or election by God.

[1:2]  ³ tn Grk “be multiplied to you.”
