Daniel 8:22

8:22 The horn that was broken ¹  and in whose place there arose four others stands for four kingdoms that will arise from his nation, though they will not have his strength.

Daniel 11:41

11:41 Then he will enter the beautiful land. ²  Many ³  will fall, but these will escape: ⁴  Edom, Moab, and the Ammonite leadership.

Daniel 12:5

12:5 I, Daniel, watched as two others stood there, one on each side of the river. ⁵ 

[8:22]  ¹ tn Heb “the broken one.” The word “horn” has been supplied in the translation to clarify the referent.

[11:41]  ² sn The beautiful land is a cryptic reference to the land of Israel.

[11:41]  ³ tn This can be understood as “many people” (cf. NRSV) or “many countries” (cf. NASB, NIV, NLT).

[11:41]  ⁴ tn Heb “be delivered from his hand.”

[12:5]  ³ tn Heb “one to this edge of the river and one to that edge of the river.”
