Daniel 11:7

11:7 “There will arise in his ¹  place one from her family line ²  who will come against their army and will enter the stronghold of the king of the north and will move against them successfully. ³ 

Daniel 11:39

11:39 He will attack ⁴  mighty fortresses, aided by ⁵  a foreign deity. To those who recognize him he will grant considerable honor. He will place them in authority over many people, and he will parcel out land for a price. ⁶ 

Yesaya 25:12

25:12 The fortified city (along with the very tops of your ⁷  walls) ⁸  he will knock down,

he will bring it down, he will throw it down to the dusty ground. ⁹ 

[11:7]  ¹ sn The reference is to the king of Egypt.

[11:7]  ² tn Heb “the stock of her roots.”

[11:7]  sn The reference to one from her family line is probably to Berenice’s brother, Ptolemy III Euergetes (ca. 246-221 B.C.).

[11:7]  ³ tn Heb “will deal with them and prevail.”

[11:39]  ⁴ tn Heb “act against.”

[11:39]  ⁵ tn Heb “with.”

[11:39]  ⁶ tn Or perhaps “for a reward.”

[25:12]  ⁷ sn Moab is addressed.

[25:12]  ⁸ tn Heb “a fortification, the high point of your walls.”

[25:12]  ⁹ tn Heb “he will bring [it] down, he will make [it] touch the ground, even to the dust.”
