26:6 The underworld ¹  is naked before God; ² 

the place of destruction lies uncovered. ³ 

Ayub 24:7

24:7 They spend the night naked because they lack clothing;

they have no covering against the cold.

Ayub 24:10

24:10 They go about naked, without clothing,

and go hungry while they carry the sheaves. ⁴

[26:6]  ³ tn The line has “and there is no covering for destruction.” “Destruction” here is another name for Sheol: אֲבַדּוֹן (’avaddon, “Abaddon”).

[24:10]  ⁴ sn The point should not be missed – amidst abundant harvests, carrying sheaves about, they are still going hungry.
