33:12 In his pain ²  Manasseh ³  asked the Lord his God for mercy ⁴  and truly ⁵  humbled himself before the God of his ancestors. ⁶ 

[6:42]  ¹ tc Heb “do not turn away the face of your anointed ones.” Many medieval Hebrew mss, as well as the ancient versions, read the singular, “your anointed,” which would probably refer to Solomon specifically, rather than the people.
