The Babylonians Destroy Jerusalem

36:15 The Lord God of their ancestors ¹  continually warned them through his messengers, ²  for he felt compassion for his people and his dwelling place.

2 Tawarikh 30:9

30:9 For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and sons will be shown mercy by their captors and return to this land. The Lord your God is merciful and compassionate; he will not reject you ³  if you return to him.”

2 Tawarikh 36:17

36:17 He brought against them the king of the Babylonians, who slaughtered ⁴  their young men in their temple. ⁵  He did not spare ⁶  young men or women, or even the old and aging. God ⁷  handed everyone over to him.

6:39 then listen from your heavenly dwelling place to their prayers for help, ⁸  vindicate them, ⁹  and forgive your sinful people.
