24:23 At the beginning ¹  of the year the Syrian army attacked ²  Joash ³  and invaded Judah and Jerusalem. They wiped out all the leaders of the people and sent all the plunder they gathered to the king of Damascus.

35:20 After Josiah had done all this for the temple, ⁴  King Necho of Egypt marched up to do battle at Carchemish on the Euphrates River. ⁵  Josiah marched out to oppose him.

36:14 All the leaders of the priests and people became more unfaithful and committed the same horrible sins practiced by the nations. ⁶  They defiled the Lord’s temple which he had consecrated in Jerusalem.
