2 Tawarikh 13:18

13:18 That day ¹  the Israelites were defeated; the men of Judah prevailed because they relied on the Lord God of their ancestors.

2 Tawarikh 16:7-8

16:7 At that time Hanani the prophet ²  visited King Asa of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Syria and did not rely on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand. 16:8 Did not the Cushites and Libyans have a huge army with chariots and a very large number of horsemen? But when you relied on the Lord, he handed them over to you!

2 Tawarikh 14:11

14:11 Asa prayed ³  to the Lord his God: “O Lord, there is no one but you who can help the weak when they are vastly outnumbered. ⁴  Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you and have marched on your behalf against this huge army. ⁵  O Lord our God, don’t let men prevail against you!” ⁶ 

2 Tawarikh 18:34

18:34 While the battle raged throughout the day, the king stood propped up in his chariot opposite the Syrians. He died in the evening as the sun was setting.

[14:11]  ³ tn Heb “called out.”

[14:11]  ⁴ tn Heb “there is not with you to help between many with regard to [the one] without strength.”

[14:11]  ⁵ tn Heb “and in your name we have come against this multitude.”

[14:11]  ⁶ tn Heb “let not man retain [strength] with you.”
