The Lord Gives Solomon Wisdom

1:1 Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, ¹  for ²  the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

2 Tawarikh 9:26

9:26 He ruled all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River ³  to the land of the Philistines as far as the border of Egypt.

13:21 Abijah’s power grew; he had ⁴  fourteen wives and fathered twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

26:8 The Ammonites paid tribute to Uzziah and his fame reached ⁵  the border of Egypt, for he grew in power.

[1:1]  ² tn The disjunctive clause (note the vav [ו] + subject pattern) probably has a causal nuance here.

[9:26]  ³ tn Heb “the River.” In biblical Hebrew the Euphrates River was typically referred to simply as “the River.”

[13:21]  ⁴ tn Heb “lifted up for himself.”

[26:8]  ⁵ tn Heb “and his name went to.”
