Elisha Demonstrates His Authority

2:19 The men of the city said to Elisha, “Look, the city has a good location, as our ¹  master can see. But the water is bad and the land doesn’t produce crops.” ² 

2 Raja-raja 2:21

2:21 He went out to the spring and threw the salt in. Then he said, “This is what the Lord says, ‘I have purified ³  this water. It will no longer cause death or fail to produce crops.” ⁴

5:24 When he arrived at the hill, he took them from the servants ⁵  and put them in the house. Then he sent the men on their way. ⁶

25:24 Gedaliah took an oath so as to give them and their troops some assurance of safety. ¹⁹  He said, “You don’t need to be afraid to submit to the Babylonian officials. Settle down in the land and submit to the king of Babylon. Then things will go well for you.”
