2:14 He took the cloak that had fallen off Elijah, ¹  hit the water with it, and said, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” When he hit the water, it divided and Elisha crossed over.

10:7 When they received the letter, they seized the king’s sons and executed all seventy of them. ⁶  They put their heads in baskets and sent them to him in Jezreel.

[2:14]  ¹ tn Heb “Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen off him.” The wording is changed slightly in the translation for the sake of variety of expression (see v. 13).

[3:26]  ² tn Heb “and the king of Moab saw that the battle was too strong for him.”

[3:26]  ³ tn Heb “he took with him seven hundred men, who drew the sword, to break through against.”
