17:4 The king of Assyria discovered that Hoshea was planning a revolt. ¹  Hoshea had sent messengers to King So ²  of Egypt and had not sent his annual tribute to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria arrested him and imprisoned him. ³

22:9 Shaphan the scribe went to the king and reported, ⁴  “Your servants melted down the silver in the temple ⁵  and handed it over to the construction foremen assigned to the Lord’s temple.”

23:24 Josiah also got rid of ⁶  the ritual pits used to conjure up spirits, ⁷  the magicians, personal idols, disgusting images, ⁸  and all the detestable idols that had appeared in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. In this way he carried out the terms of the law ⁹  recorded on the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the Lord’s temple.
