13:5 The Lord provided a deliverer ¹²  for Israel and they were freed from Syria’s power. ¹³  The Israelites once more lived in security. ¹⁴ 

2 Raja-raja 13:13-14

13:13 Joash passed away ¹⁵  and Jeroboam succeeded him on the throne. ¹⁶  Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

Elisha Makes One Final Prophecy

13:14 Now Elisha had a terminal illness. ¹⁷  King Joash of Israel went down to visit him. ¹⁸  He wept before him and said, “My father, my father! The chariot ¹⁹  and horsemen of Israel!” ²⁰

16:20 Ahaz passed away ²⁵  and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David. His son Hezekiah replaced him as king.

17:17 They passed their sons and daughters through the fire, ²⁶  and practiced divination and omen reading. They committed themselves to doing evil in the sight of the Lord and made him angry. ²⁷ 

2 Raja-raja 18:30

18:30 Don’t let Hezekiah talk you into trusting in the Lord when he says, “The Lord will certainly rescue us; this city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.”

19:2 He sent Eliakim the palace supervisor, Shebna the scribe, and the leading priests, ²⁸  clothed in sackcloth, with this message to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz:

22:17 This will happen because they have abandoned me and offered sacrifices ³⁵  to other gods, angering me with all the idols they have made. ³⁶  My anger will ignite against this place and will not be extinguished!’”
