2 Korintus 11:5
Konteks11:5 For I consider myself not at all inferior to those “super-apostles.” 1
2 Korintus 12:14
Konteks12:14 Look, for the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you, because I do not want your possessions, but you. For children should not have 2 to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
2 Korintus 13:8
Konteks13:8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the sake of the truth.
[11:5] 1 tn The implicit irony in Paul’s remark is brought out well by the TEV: “I do not think that I am the least bit inferior to those very special so-called ‘apostles’ of yours!”
[11:5] sn The ‘super-apostles’ refers either (1) to the original apostles (the older interpretation) or (2) more probably, to Paul’s opponents in Corinth, in which case the designation is ironic.
[12:14] 2 tn Grk “children ought not,” but this might give the impression that children are not supposed to support sick or aging parents in need of help. That is not what Paul is saying. His point is that children should not have to pay their parent’s way.
