2 Raja-raja 2:20-22

2:20 Elisha ¹  said, “Get me a new jar and put some salt in it.” So they got it. 2:21 He went out to the spring and threw the salt in. Then he said, “This is what the Lord says, ‘I have purified ²  this water. It will no longer cause death or fail to produce crops.” ³  2:22 The water has been pure to this very day, just as Elisha prophesied. ⁴

4:41 He said, “Get some flour.” Then he threw it into the pot and said, “Now pour some out for the men so they may eat.” ⁵  There was no longer anything harmful in the pot.

Yesaya 38:21

38:21 ⁶  Isaiah ordered, “Let them take a fig cake and apply it to the ulcerated sore and he will get well.”

[4:41]  ⁵ tn Or “and let them eat.”

[38:21]  ⁶ tc If original to Isaiah 38, vv. 21-22 have obviously been misplaced in the course of the text’s transmission, and would most naturally be placed here, between Isa 38:6 and 38:7. See 2 Kgs 20:7-8, where these verses are placed at this point in the narrative, not at the end. Another possibility is that these verses were not in the original account, and a scribe, familiar with the 2 Kgs version of the story, appended vv. 21-22 to the end of the account in Isaiah 38.
