1 Tawarikh 18:4
Konteks18:4 David seized from him 1,000 chariots, 7,000 charioteers, 1 and 20,000 infantrymen. David cut the hamstrings of all but a hundred of Hadadezer’s 2 chariot horses. 3
1 Tawarikh 20:2
Konteks20:2 David took the crown from the head of their king 4 and wore it 5 (its weight was a talent 6 of gold and it was set with precious stones). He took a large amount of plunder from the city.
[18:4] 2 tn Heb “his”; the referent (Hadadezer) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
[18:4] 3 tn Heb “and David cut the hamstrings of all the chariot horses, and he left from them one hundred chariot horses.”
[20:2] 4 tc The translation follows the MT, which reads “of their king”; the LXX and Vulgate read “of Milcom” (cf. 1 Kgs 11:5). Milcom, also known as Molech, was the god of the Ammonites.
