[9:13]  1 tc The MT has “him” (אֹתוֹ, ’oto) here, in addition to the “him” at the end of the verse. The ancient versions attest to only one occurrence of the pronoun, although it is possible that this is due to translation technique rather than to their having a Hebrew text with the pronoun used only once. The present translation assumes textual duplication in the MT and does not attempt to represent the pronoun twice. However, for a defense of the MT here, with the suggested translation “for him just now – you will find him,” see S. R. Driver, Notes on the Hebrew Text and the Topography of the Books of Samuel, 72-73.

[13:11]  2 tn Heb “dispersed from upon me.”

[14:36]  3 tn Heb “plunder.”

[14:36]  4 tn Heb “until the light of the morning.”

[14:36]  5 tn Heb “and there will not be left among them a man.”

[14:36]  6 tn Heb “all that is good in your eyes.” So also in v. 40.

[19:4]  7 tn Heb “spoke good with respect to David.”

[19:4]  8 tn Heb “good.”

[22:6]  9 tn Heb “and Saul heard that David and the men who were with him were known.”

[25:2]  10 tn Heb “great.”

[27:11]  11 tn Heb “all the days.”

[28:7]  12 tn Heb “an owner of a ritual pit.” See the note at v. 3.

[31:12]  13 tc The translation follows the MT, which vocalizes the verb as a Qal. The LXX, however, treats the verb as a Hiphil, “they brought.”
