8:5 Now King Solomon and all the Israelites who had assembled with him went on ahead of the ark and sacrificed more sheep and cattle than could be counted or numbered. ¹ 

1 Raja-raja 18:24

18:24 Then you ²  will invoke the name of your god, and I will invoke the name of the Lord. The god who responds with fire will demonstrate that he is the true God.” ³  All the people responded, “This will be a fair test.” ⁴ 

[8:5]  ¹ tn Heb “And King Solomon and all the assembly of Israel, those who had been gathered to him, [were] before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle which could not be counted or numbered because of the abundance.”

[18:24]  ² tn Elijah now directly addresses the prophets.

[18:24]  ³ tn Heb “the God.”

[18:24]  ⁴ tn Heb “The matter [i.e., proposal] is good [i.e., acceptable].”
