3:3 Solomon demonstrated his loyalty to the Lord by following ¹  the practices ²  of his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places.

1 Raja-raja 9:6

9:6 “But if you or your sons ever turn away from me, fail to obey the regulations and rules I instructed you to keep, ³  and decide to serve and worship other gods, ⁴

13:16 But he replied, “I can’t go back with you ⁵  or eat and drink ⁶  with you in this place.

[9:6]  ⁴ tn Heb “and walk and serve other gods and bow down to them.”

[13:16]  ⁵ tn Heb “I am unable to return with you or to go with you.”

[13:16]  ⁶ tn Heb “eat food and drink water.”
