Sebuah kota dekat *Korintus yang dikunjungi oleh Paulus (Kis. 18:18-20). Sebuah jemaat didirikan di sana; *Febe adalah salah satu *diakennya (Rm. 16:1).

KENGKREA [ensiklopedia]

Kini Kichries, kota dekat Korintus, berfungsi sebagai pelabuhan perdagangan kota, pusat perdagangan dengan Aegea dan dengan negara-negara di pantai Asia Kecil dan Siria. Kengkrea mempunyai satu gereja yg dilayani Febe (Rm 16:1, 2). Barangkali inilah hasil pekerjaan Paulus yg lama di Korintus. Di sini Paulus mencukur rambutnya, untuk memenuhi nazarnya (Kis 18:18), sebelum ia menuju Efesus. JHP/HH
