and any winged thing on the ground are impure to you – they may not be eaten. ¹ 

“‘Every winged swarming thing that walks on all fours ¹  is detestable to you.

But any other winged swarming thing that has four legs is detestable to you.

The priests will not eat any bird or animal that has died a natural death or was torn to pieces by a wild animal. ¹ 

Pairs ¹  of clean animals, of unclean animals, of birds, and of everything that creeps along the ground,

He produced manuals on botany, describing every kind of plant, ¹  from the cedars of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows on walls. He also produced manuals on biology, describing ²  animals, birds, insects, and fish.

נ (Nun) Your word ¹  is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path. ²
