24:1 Now on the first day ³  of the week, at early dawn, the women ⁴  went to the tomb, taking the aromatic spices ⁵  they had prepared.

[24:34]  ² sn The Lord…has appeared to Simon. Jesus had made another appearance besides the one on the road. The excitement was rising. Simon refers to Simon Peter.

[24:1]  ⁴ tn Grk “they”; the referent (the women mentioned in 23:55) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
