2:1 (2:5) I looked again, and there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.

2:3 At this point the angelic messenger ¹  who spoke to me went out, and another messenger came to meet him

2:13 Be silent in the Lord’s presence, all people everywhere, ²  for he is being moved to action in his holy dwelling place. ³

11:3 Listen to the howling of shepherds,

because their magnificence has been destroyed.

Listen to the roaring of young lions,

because the thickets of the Jordan have been devastated.

Zakharia 12:7

12:7 The Lord also will deliver the homes ⁴  of Judah first, so that the splendor of the kingship ⁵  of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not exceed that of Judah.

[2:13]  ³ sn The sense here is that God in heaven is about to undertake an occupation of his earthly realm (v. 12) by restoring his people to the promised land.

[12:7]  ⁵ tn Heb “house,” referring here to the dynastic line. Cf. NLT “the royal line”; CEV “the kingdom.” The same expression is translated “dynasty” in the following verse.
