5:1 When all the Amorite kings on the west side of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the seacoast heard how the Lord had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites while they 1  crossed, they lost their courage and could not even breathe for fear of the Israelites. 2

9:24 They said to Joshua, “It was carefully reported to your subjects 3  how the Lord your God commanded Moses his servant to assign you the whole land and to destroy all who live in the land from before you. Because of you we were terrified 4  we would lose our lives, so we did this thing.

22:9 So the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh left the Israelites in Shiloh in the land of Canaan and headed home to their own land in Gilead, 5  which they acquired by the Lord’s command through Moses.
