Yesaya 58:2

58:2 They seek me day after day;

they want to know my requirements, ¹ 

like a nation that does what is right

and does not reject the law of their God.

They ask me for just decrees;

they want to be near God.

Yesaya 58:7

58:7 I want you ²  to share your food with the hungry

and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. ³ 

When you see someone naked, clothe him!

Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood! ⁴ 

Yesaya 62:4

62:4 You will no longer be called, “Abandoned,”

and your land will no longer be called “Desolate.”

Indeed, ⁵  you will be called “My Delight is in Her,” ⁶ 

and your land “Married.” ⁷ 

For the Lord will take delight in you,

and your land will be married to him. ⁸ 

Yesaya 65:22

65:22 No longer will they build a house only to have another live in it, ⁹ 

or plant a vineyard only to have another eat its fruit, ¹⁰ 

for my people will live as long as trees, ¹¹ 

and my chosen ones will enjoy to the fullest what they have produced. ¹² 

Yesaya 66:2

66:2 My hand made them; ¹³ 

that is how they came to be,” ¹⁴  says the Lord.

I show special favor ¹⁵  to the humble and contrite,

who respect what I have to say. ¹⁶
