[3:9]  1 sn This refers to their proud, arrogant demeanor.

[3:9]  2 tn Heb “answers against them”; NRSV “bears witness against them.”

[3:9]  3 tn Heb “their sin, like Sodom, they declare, they do not conceal [it].”

[3:9]  4 tn Heb “woe to their soul.”

[26:10]  5 tn As in verse 9b, the translation understands צֶדֶק (tsedeq) in the sense of “justice,” but it is possible that it carries the nuance “righteousness,” in which case one might translate, “they do not learn to live in a righteous manner.”

[26:10]  6 tn Heb “in a land of uprightness they act unjustly”; NRSV “they deal perversely.”

[52:10]  7 tn Heb “lays bare”; NLT “will demonstrate.”

[52:10]  8 tn Heb “his holy arm.” This is a metonymy for his power.

[52:10]  9 tn Heb “the remote regions,” which here stand for the extremities and everything in between.

[52:10]  10 tn Heb “the deliverance of our God.” “God” is a subjective genitive here.
