4:45 These are the stipulations, statutes, and ordinances that Moses spoke to the Israelites after he had brought them out of Egypt,

Ulangan 7:18

7:18 you must not fear them. You must carefully recall ¹  what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and all Egypt,

Ulangan 17:17

17:17 Furthermore, he must not marry many ²  wives lest his affections turn aside, and he must not accumulate much silver and gold.

[7:18]  ¹ tn Heb “recalling, you must recall.” The Hebrew text uses the infinitive absolute before the finite verb for emphasis. Cf. KJV, ASV “shalt well remember.”

[17:17]  ² tn Heb “must not multiply” (cf. KJV, NASB); NLT “must not take many.”
