[2:27]  ¹ tn Heb “in the way in the way” (בַּדֶּרֶךְ בַּדֶּרֶךְ, baderekh baderekh). The repetition lays great stress on the idea of resolute determination to stick to the path. IBHS 116 §7.2.3c.

[23:2]  ² tn Or “a person born of an illegitimate marriage.”

[23:2]  ³ tn Heb “enter the assembly of the Lord.” The phrase “do so” has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

[28:40]  ⁴ tn Heb “your olives will drop off” (נָשַׁל, nashal), referring to the olives dropping off before they ripen.
