Nehemia 2:12

2:12 I got up during the night, along with a few men who were with me. But I did not tell anyone what my God was putting on my heart to do for Jerusalem. There were no animals with me, except for the one ¹  I was riding.

Nehemia 4:22

4:22 At that time I instructed ²  the people, “Let every man and his coworker spend the night in Jerusalem and let them be guards for us by night and workers by day.

Nehemia 9:31

9:31 However, due to your abundant mercy you did not do away with them altogether; you did not abandon them. For you are a merciful and compassionate God.

Nehemia 13:2

13:2 for they had not met the Israelites with food ³  and water, but instead had hired Balaam to curse them. (Our God, however, turned the curse into blessing.)

[2:12]  ¹ tn Heb “the animal.”

[4:22]  ² tn Heb “said [to].”

[13:2]  ³ tn Heb “bread.” The Hebrew term is generic here, however, referring to more than bread alone.
