Lukas 11:28

11:28 But he replied, ¹  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey ²  it!”

Lukas 20:34

20:34 So ³  Jesus said to them, “The people of this age ⁴  marry and are given in marriage.

[11:28]  ² sn This is another reference to hearing and doing the word of God, which here describes Jesus’ teaching; see Luke 8:21.

[20:34]  ³ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate that Jesus’ response is a result of their framing of the question.

[20:34]  ⁴ tn Grk “sons of this age” (an idiom, see L&N 11.16). The following clause which refers to being “given in marriage” suggests both men and women are included in this phrase.
