Timothy Joins Paul and Silas

16:1 He also came to Derbe ³  and to Lystra. ⁴  A disciple ⁵  named Timothy was there, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, ⁶  but whose father was a Greek. ⁷ 

[9:38]  ¹ sn Lydda was a city northwest of Jerusalem on the way to Joppa.

[9:38]  ² tn Grk “Do not delay to come to us.” It is somewhat smoother to say in English, “Come to us without delay.”

[16:1]  ³ sn Derbe was a city in Lycaonia about 35 mi (60 km) southeast of Lystra. It was about 90 mi (145 km) from Tarsus.
