6:15 All ¹  who were sitting in the council ²  looked intently at Stephen ³  and saw his face was like the face of an angel. ⁴

12:9 Peter ⁵  went out ⁶  and followed him; ⁷  he did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, ⁸  but thought he was seeing a vision.

[6:15]  ⁴ sn His face was like the face of an angel. This narrative description of Stephen’s face adds to the mood of the passage. He had the appearance of a supernatural, heavenly messenger.

[12:9]  ⁶ tn Grk “Peter going out followed him.” The participle ἐξελθών (exelqwn) has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.
