Kisah Para Rasul 10:46
Konteks10:46 for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising 4 God. Then Peter said,
Kisah Para Rasul 21:14
Konteks21:14 Because he could not be persuaded, 5 we said no more except, 6 “The Lord’s will be done.” 7
[9:25] 2 tn The opening in the wall is not specifically mentioned here, but the parallel account in 2 Cor 11:33 mentions a “window” or “opening” (θυρίς, quris) in the city wall through which Paul was lowered. One alternative to introducing mention of the opening is to translate Acts 9:25 “they let him down over the wall,” as suggested in L&N 7.61. This option is not employed by many translations, however, because for the English reader it creates an (apparent) contradiction between Acts 9:25 and 2 Cor 11:33. In reality the account here is simply more general, omitting the detail about the window.
[9:25] 3 tn On the term for “basket” used here, see BDAG 940 s.v. σπυρίς.
[10:46] 4 tn Or “extolling,” “magnifying.”
[21:14] 5 tn The participle πειθομένου (peiqomenou) in this genitive absolute construction has been translated as a causal adverbial participle.
[21:14] 6 tn Grk “we became silent, saying.”
[21:14] 7 sn “The Lord’s will be done.” Since no one knew exactly what would happen, the matter was left in the Lord’s hands.
