[7:14]  1 tn Some take “serving” here in the sense of “worshiping.”

[7:14]  2 tn Aram “is an eternal authority which will not pass away.”

[7:14]  3 tn Aram “is one which will not be destroyed.”

[7:27]  4 tn If the “holy ones” are angels, then this probably refers to the angels as protectors of God’s people. If the “holy ones” are God’s people, then this is an appositional construction, “the people who are the holy ones.” See 8:24 for the corresponding Hebrew phrase and the note there.

[9:19]  5 tn Heb “for your name is called over your city and your people.” See the note on this expression in v 18.

[11:7]  6 sn The reference is to the king of Egypt.

[11:7]  7 tn Heb “the stock of her roots.”

[11:7]  sn The reference to one from her family line is probably to Berenice’s brother, Ptolemy III Euergetes (ca. 246-221 B.C.).

[11:7]  8 tn Heb “will deal with them and prevail.”

[11:20]  9 tn Heb “on his place.”
