Daniel 1:11

1:11 Daniel then spoke to the warden ¹  whom the overseer of the court officials had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

Daniel 1:18

1:18 When the time appointed by the king arrived, ²  the overseer of the court officials brought them into Nebuchadnezzar’s presence.

Daniel 2:7

2:7 They again replied, “Let the king inform us ³  of the dream; then we will disclose its ⁴  interpretation.”

“Let the name of God ⁶  be praised ⁷  forever and ever,

for wisdom and power belong to him.

Daniel 11:3

11:3 Then a powerful king ⁹  will arise, exercising great authority and doing as he pleases.

Daniel 11:12

11:12 When the army is taken away, the king of the south will become arrogant. ¹⁰  He will be responsible for the death ¹¹  of thousands and thousands of people, ¹²  but he will not continue to prevail.

Daniel 11:32

11:32 Then with smooth words he will defile ¹³  those who have rejected ¹⁴  the covenant. But the people who are loyal to ¹⁵  their God will act valiantly. ¹⁶ 

Daniel 11:34

11:34 When they stumble, they will be granted some help. But many will unite with them deceitfully.

[11:32]  ¹⁵ tn Heb “know.” The term “know” sometimes means “to recognize.” In relational contexts it can have the connotation “recognize the authority of, be loyal to,” as it does here.

[11:32]  ¹⁶ sn This is an allusion to the Maccabean revolt, which struggled to bring about Jewish independence in the second century B.C.
