Acts 20:37-38

20:37 They all began to weep loudly, ¹  and hugged ²  Paul and kissed him, ³  20:38 especially saddened ⁴  by what ⁵  he had said, that they were not going to see him ⁶  again. Then they accompanied ⁷  him to the ship.

Paul Travels Through Macedonia and Greece

20:1 After the disturbance had ended, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging ⁸  them and saying farewell, ⁹  he left to go to Macedonia. ¹⁰

Jonathan Seeks to Protect David

20:1 David fled from Naioth in Ramah. He came to Jonathan and asked, ¹⁵  “What have I done? What is my offense? ¹⁶  How have I sinned before your father? For he is seeking my life!”

The NIV treats it as an elliptical expression, rendering the phrase as “from the south side of the stone (rock NCV).” This is perhaps possible, but it seems better to follow the LXX rather than the MT here.

With 22:1 the verse numbers in the ET and HT are again the same.
