7:9 On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had dedicated the altar for seven days and celebrated the festival for seven more days.

28:10 And now you are planning ³  to enslave ⁴  the people ⁵  of Judah and Jerusalem. Yet are you not also guilty before the Lord your God?

32:3 he consulted with his advisers and military officers about stopping up the springs ⁶  outside the city, and they supported him.

[10:4]  ² tn Heb “but you, now, lighten the burdensome work of your father and the heavy yoke which he placed on us, and we will serve you.” In the Hebrew text the prefixed verbal form with vav (וְנַעַבְדֶךָ, vÿna’avdekha, “and we will serve you”) following the imperative (הָקֵל, haqel, “lighten”) indicates purpose/result. The conditional sentence used in the present translation is an attempt to bring out the logical relationship between these forms.
