6:31 Then they will honor ¹  you by obeying you ²  throughout their lifetimes as ³  they live on the land you gave to our ancestors.

[6:31]  ² tn Heb “by walking in your ways.”

[6:31]  ³ tn Heb “all the days [in] which.”

[6:42]  ⁴ tc Heb “do not turn away the face of your anointed ones.” Many medieval Hebrew mss, as well as the ancient versions, read the singular, “your anointed,” which would probably refer to Solomon specifically, rather than the people.
