[7:16]  1 tc Heb “before you.” A few medieval Hebrew mss read instead “before me,” which makes better sense contextually. (See also the LXX and the Syriac Peshitta.) The MT reading is probably the result of dittography (note the כ [kaf] at the beginning of the next form), with the extra כ then being interpreted as a pronominal suffix.

[7:16]  2 tn Heb “throne.”

[9:16]  3 tn The translation assumes that the infinitive לִזְכֹּר (lizkor, “to remember”) here expresses the result of seeing the rainbow. Another option is to understand it as indicating purpose, in which case it could be translated, “I will look at it so that I may remember.”

[9:2]  4 tn Heb “and fear of you and dread of you will be upon every living creature of the earth and upon every bird of the sky.” The suffixes on the nouns “fear” and “dread” are objective genitives. The animals will fear humans from this time forward.

[9:2]  5 tn Heb “into your hand are given.” The “hand” signifies power. To say the animals have been given into the hands of humans means humans have been given authority over them.

[22:1]  6 tn Heb “house.”

[22:1]  7 tn Heb “house.”

[2:4]  8 tn Heb “then the Lord will establish his word which he spoke to me, saying.”

[2:4]  9 tn Heb “guard their way.”

[2:4]  10 tn Heb “by walking before me in faithfulness.”

[2:4]  11 tn Or “soul.”

[2:4]  12 tn Heb “saying.”

[2:4]  13 tn Heb “there will not be cut off from you a man from upon the throne of Israel.”

[2:45]  14 tn Or “blessed.”

[2:45]  15 tn Heb “throne.”

[2:1]  16 tn Heb “and the days of David approached to die.”

[2:1]  17 tn Or “commanded.”

[22:10]  18 tn Heb “for my name.”

[22:10]  19 tn Heb “and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel permanently.”
