5:3 When all the leaders 2  of Israel came to the king at Hebron, King David made an agreement with them 3  in Hebron before the Lord. They designated 4  David as king over Israel.

23:5 My dynasty is approved by God, 5 

for he has made a perpetual covenant with me,

arranged in all its particulars and secured.

[3:13]  1 tn The words “when you come to see my face,” though found in the Hebrew text, are somewhat redundant given the similar expression in the earlier part of the verse. The words are absent from the Syriac Peshitta.
