3:13 So David said, “Good! I will make an agreement with you. I ask only one thing from you. You will not see my face unless you bring Saul’s daughter Michal when you come to visit me.” ¹ 

2 Samuel 5:3

5:3 When all the leaders ²  of Israel came to the king at Hebron, King David made an agreement with them ³  in Hebron before the Lord. They designated ⁴  David as king over Israel.

2 Samuel 23:5

23:5 My dynasty is approved by God, ⁵ 

for he has made a perpetual covenant with me,

arranged in all its particulars and secured.

He always delivers me,

and brings all I desire to fruition. ⁶ 

[3:13]  ¹ tn The words “when you come to see my face,” though found in the Hebrew text, are somewhat redundant given the similar expression in the earlier part of the verse. The words are absent from the Syriac Peshitta.
